Join us for an evening of music with Pre-College musicians and the Ivalas Quartet—the school’s graduate resident string quartet. The program will showcase Thomas Flippin’s composition in remembrance of Seneca Village, the African American settlement on the land that is now Central Park, along with other works.
Flippin’s The Lost Village of Seneca was commissioned in 2023 as part of Composing Inclusion: a collaboration between the New York Philharmonic, American Composers Forum, and Juilliard’s Preparatory Division, made possible with funding from the Sphinx Venture Fund.
