In TyLie Shider’s The Gospel Woman, Orpah, the award winning Soul singer, will soon arrive to record her live Gospel album in the church. In the interim, there is a boycott, the threat of a foreclosure, and a sororal feud over whose voice is on the demo that launched her career.

About National Black Theatre
National Black Theatre (NBT), the nation’s first revenue-generating Black arts complex, was founded in 1968 by the late visionary artist Dr. Barbara Ann Teer. NBT is the longest-running Black theatre in New York City and one of the oldest theaters founded and consistently operated by a woman of color.

• While Chelsea Factory strongly recommends vaccination against COVID-19, proof of vaccination is not currently required for audience entrance to performances and public programs.
