120 minutes

Ages 18 and up

FLS+ is teaming up with Chelsea Factory to create an inspiring introduction to improv and hip hop for adults ages 18 and up. Led by seasoned performers and improv pros, this FREE two-hour workshop gives participants hands-on experience with freestyle rap, beatboxing, and storytelling in a safe, supportive environment.

From cast and creators of the Tony Award-winning Broadway show Freestyle Love Supreme, FLS+ helps individuals and companies flex their mental muscles through joyful musicality and improvisation.

About the November 12 Facilitators:
David "BS" Bradshaw has been emceeing and beatboxing in NYC for the past decade. His primary focus the last five years has been refining his craft as an artist-educator and programming specialist. He is the creator, writer, and host of "the American Ninja Warrior of freestyle rap" PROPS! Game Show and founder of Freestyle Fitness NYC, a freestyle rap initiative pairing cyphers to lesson plans to produce uniquely therapeutic cognitive work-outs steeped in life and language skills. He has toured regionally, performed at the Apollo, been featured on BET's 106&Park, and The Today Show. He’s performed with Broadway's Freestyle Love Supreme and collaborated on hip-hop based team-building and professional development seminars with entities like Facebook, Nikon, Toyota, Carnegie Hall, and Lavelle School for the Blind. BS is a BEAT Global T3 certified instructor with background as a Spanish Dual Language teacher. He currently facilitates workshops for learners of all ages and abilities in freestyle rhyming, songwriting, and beatboxing, including incarcerated youth and special needs populations.

Stephanie Rae has been studying traditional and musical improv for twelve years. She’s directed a Boyz II Men themed show for UCB's Del Close Marathon, guest played with everyone from the Groundlings to ComedySportz, and spent five years teaching after-school improv to kids from ages 4-14. These days, she directs the Black Improv Alliance, performing with and teaching improvisers from Louisiana to Liverpool, and explores the science of play as a curriculum designer and facilitator for FLS+. She also has a law degree from Georgetown - but mostly uses it to win arguments online.
