Young artists are invited to make art with Children's Museum of the Arts (CMA) during a free community studio day hosted at Chelsea Factory. Participating children will have the opportunity to explore different art materials, movements, and approaches under the mentorship of CMA's Artists in Residence.

Completed work can be submitted to be featured in The Lemonade Stand, a selling exhibition of children's artworks on view at NADA New York art fair in May 2023. All proceeds benefit CMA's Emergency Arts Education Fund, which places artists directly into schools, instantly. The Lemonade Stand is a blueprint for transforming the art world into a more inclusive community that celebrates and platforms the voices of NYC’s most emerging artists.

About Children’s Museum of the Arts:
Children's Museum of the Arts unites children and artists to create and share ambitious works of art with their communities and the world. Born out of an artist’s SoHo studio in 1988, the museum has built a living collection of over 2,000 works by children from over 50 countries dating back nearly a century, while connecting young New Yorkers to art and artists. In 2021 CMA’s Executive Director Seth Cameron established The Look Make Show, the first digital commons specifically designed for child-artist-centered learning.

Children's Museum of the Arts' Community Studio is generously supported by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation, Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, Ruth Foundation for the Arts, William Talbott Hillman Foundation, First Republic Bank, The LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation, Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Google Community Grants Fund, Amazon, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Harriet Ames Charitable Trust, The Cowles Charitable Trust, Hammitt, and the Vinair Family Foundation.

Additional support is provided, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
